Headland, Mission Beach
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it and how we keep it safe.
01 Who We Are
This website at headlandmissionbeach.com.au presents Headland, a council-approved estate of twelve homesites at South Mission Beach, Queensland. The estate is marketed on our behalf by YKC Agency and sold exclusively by Colliers (Cairns) and Newton Property Group (Mission Beach). In this policy the words "we", "us" and "our" refer to Headland, Mission Beach and the parties acting for it.
We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
02 Information We Collect
We collect two kinds of information.
Information you give us. When you complete an enquiry form to request a Lot Brief, the Information Memorandum, or a call with the selling agents, we collect your name, your email address, your phone number, the homesite you are interested in and any message or preferences you choose to share.
Information we collect automatically. When you visit the site we collect standard technical data through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your device and browser type, your approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you view, the links you follow and the source that referred you to us.
03 How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and send you the documents you request
- pass your enquiry to the exclusive selling agents so they can contact you about the estate
- measure how our advertising performs and improve the website and the material we offer
- meet our legal and record-keeping obligations
We do not make automated decisions that affect you, and we do not sell your information.
04 Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website function and help us understand how it is used. Our site uses cookies for two purposes. Necessary cookies keep the site working and remember your session. Measurement cookies, described in the next section, help us understand which advertising brings visitors to the site. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
05 Advertising and the Meta Pixel
We advertise this estate on Facebook and Instagram, which are services of Meta Platforms. To measure whether that advertising is working, the site uses the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API. These tools record actions such as viewing a homesite or submitting an enquiry and report them to Meta so we can see how many enquiries our advertising produces.
Where you submit an enquiry, a version of your email address that has been converted into a secure code (a hash) may be sent to Meta so it can match the enquiry to an advertisement without revealing your address. You can manage how Meta uses your information through your Facebook and Instagram ad settings, and you can opt out of interest-based advertising at youronlinechoices.com.au.
06 Who We Share It With
We share your information only where it is needed to answer your enquiry and run the campaign. This includes:
- the exclusive selling agents, Colliers and Newton Property Group, who receive your enquiry so they can contact you
- our service providers, including Meta for advertising measurement, Cloudflare for website hosting and email delivery, and YKC Agency as our marketing partner
We require our service providers to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we set. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
07 Information Stored Overseas
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. When your information is handled by Meta or Cloudflare it may be stored or processed overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected wherever it is held.
08 How We Store and Keep It
Your enquiry is delivered to the selling agents by email and held in their systems so they can assist you. We keep your information for as long as it is needed to respond to your enquiry and to meet our business and legal obligations, after which we delete it or remove the details that identify you. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
09 Your Rights
You can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal information we hold about you
- correct information that is wrong or out of date
- stop contacting you, at any time
To make a request, or to unsubscribe from any updates, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
